Books

  • Library Catalog
    Used for finding books and other resources available in the library.
  • EBSCO Ebooks
    Access to more than 150,000 electronic books with over 20,000 in the business areas. Many of the books may be signed out and downloaded to mobile devices.

Resources for downloading e-books

You will need the following prior to downloading ebooks from EBSCO:

  1. An Adobe ID available from: www.adobe.com
  2. Adobe Digital Edition that can be downloaded to a PC or MAC
  3. An EBSCO ID from the EBSCO Ebook package or any other EBSCO database
  4. Bluefire Reader for downloading to a mobile device

 

Steps for Accessing and Downloading Ebooks from EBSCO on a PC or MAC

The following are the steps for accessing and downloading Ebooks to a PC or MAC:

  1. Access the EBSCO Ebooks package here or through the Library's Article Databases
  2. Enter a search by keyword or title for for an ebook
  3. In the search results to read the full text of the book click on the link labeled eBook Full Text
  4. To download an eBook, click on the link labeled Download (Offline)
  5. You will be prompted to Sign Into My EBSCOhost account if you haven't already, you can also create your ID if not already done so
  6. Sign in with your EBSCO Username and Password
  7. Choose a checkout period between 1 and 63 days
  8. Click Checkout and Download
  9. A message appears that the eBook was checked out successfully
  10. Find where the eBook was downloaded and double click on it
  11. At the prompt authorize your computer by entering your Adobe Username and Password
    • Please Note that you should only have to do this once if using your own computer unless you deauthorize it
  12. The eBook will open in Adobe Digital Editions
    •  If double clicking doesn't work, click on File, then Add to Library in Adobe Digital Editions to open the book

  1. Access the EBSCO Ebooks package here or through the Library's Article Databases
  2. Enter a search by keyword or title for for an ebook

  4. To download an eBook, click on the link labeled Download (Offline)

  6. Sign in with your EBSCO Username and Password

  10. When prompted choose to open the eBook in the Bluefire Reader
  11. At the prompt authorize your device by entering your Adobe Username and Password

  12. The eBook will be available to read in the Bluefire Reader app
